A Rock Island Lake Club Wedding

Rock Island Lake Club was the perfect venue for this perfect couple to say ” I do”. Lauren and Kevin are true “couple goals” as the young people would say. Lauren is a pediatrician and I think all of her tiny patients would agree that she is caring, gentle and quite kind. Kevin is a director of finance in D.C, and according to his mothers speech that work has always been in his blood. Their success in their career fields on its own is impressive, but their relationship is where they truly shine.

Starry-eyed has a new meaning, the way Kevin and Lauren look at each-other. Truthfully it is what stuck out to me the most about them, they can lock eyes easily. Statistically as a society we find that terrifying. It is a vulnerable thing to look deeply into someones eyes, you know that feeling where it is like they are peering into your very soul, most people dont love that. But Kevin and Lauren do. They gaze at each other like no one else matters, and while I know they love people it is nothing compared to their deep affection for one another.

Weddings at Rock Island Lake Club

Rock Island is the venue I always say I would have gotten married at. It is the perfect mix of classy, yet relaxed. Just like Lauren and Kevin. Once I arrived at Rock Island I was greeted by sunshine and a blushing bride. Finally all of their planning was coming to bloom! May 6th gave me my first NON rainy wedding day, and while I love the challenge of making the rain somehow look warm oh was it good to shoot in the sunshine! There were so many sentimental moments throughout this wedding day, from puppies to bracelets in grandma’s handwriting the love flowed. Friends and family spoke of the tenacity with which Lauren and Kevin have approached everything in their lives, Clearly dedication and loyalty run through their veins naturally. What an honor to watch them become husband and wife, form their own family, and dance the night away!

Kevin and Lauren, I pray that every time you look at these images your memory will glide right back to this day. That even on the coldest days you will remember the warmth of May 6ths sunshine. I am so grateful to have been there for you both.

First Look With Dad

I have had many brides forgo a “first look” with their dad because they do not think they will have a photo-worthy reaction. False. They will. As a parent I can promise you it is worth the 5 minutes it will take.

First Look with Forever

Kevin and Lauren chose to do a quick first look right before the ceremony. We returned to Rock Island Lake Club later and took all of their romantic portraits. Because they did this , they were able to drive to their ceremony together!
