A SPRING WEDDING AT MARINA DEL REY// BRONX, NY

Devin and Joe deserve an award. So does every couple that has been planning a wedding through the pandemic, but this post is about Devin & Joe so I am going to focus on just them. They have been planning their first day of spring wedding at the Marina Del Rey in the Bronx, NY for over a year. Every twist and turn was imaginable was present, but they persevered and were rewarded with an incredible wedding day.

The Marina Del Rey sits right on the river in the Bronx, it’s stunning. Sunshine, glittering water and the friendliest staff greeted me. The guys all pulled up, smiles bursting from Joe and the day was off and running. Devin gifted Joe with a pin of their incredibly cute puppy Ziggy ,that is no longer with us. This was the beginning of so many sentimental moments that left my eyes more than a little misty. Devin arrived and the resounding agreement was that there has never been a more stunning bride. The last time someone even came close was many years before, in the exact same venue when Devins parents got married there.

 The rhythm of the night was strong with this one.

It felt so good to be back at a real full wedding. Devin and Joe are clearly loved. Attending a wedding used to be a simple affair (save for finding the perfect outfit) but with COVID, there are a few more hoops. These guests gladly jumped them. Tears flowed during speeches of gratitude for this relationship, of thankful relief that two more people in the world have found the one. Devins father handed over his favorite nickname for his little girl to her new main man, ” Devin my gift from heaven”.  And Through tears Joe’s cousin spoke of having a cousin as close as brother (ok I cried during this speech). I am thrilled that you both got your day. I am thrilled that my camera got to capture every smile, laugh, and tear. May this be the beginning of more good things, Im just so happy for you!

 

Ceremony time!

Now to the dock, I wanted to hit this spot up once the sun was setting. Word of advice to photographers, wait until the light is perfect to hit up a favorite location.

 

We wanted to grab a few quick images in the ballroom before everyone else got in, best decision ever.

Now its time to party!

And for the grand finale….
