Arvin and Laura are a rarity. They began dating in high school, made it all the way through the chaos of college and now they are onto their biggest accomplishment next, marriage. From the moment I spoke with them on the phone I knew I wanted to photograph their wedding. They were genuine and giggly, excited and clear about what they envisioned. But most of all they were ready to be married, now THAT always photographs well. I am so glad they chose me. I do not get to photograph a ton of North Jersey Weddings so this was a real honor.
Arvin and Laura chose the gorgeous (and delicious) Seasons Catering in North Jersey to have their wedding reception after they tied the knot in a beautiful Church right in Nanuet. They both wanted to see each other for the first time on their wedding day down the aisle, and I know that photographs or not that moment will forever be etched into their memory. Every wedding and couple is unique yes, even after 218 weddings this still rings true. Arvin and Laura had two things that have left an impression, firstly they are surrounded by a MASSIVE group of friends and family that are ALL for them. As a married woman I can tell you, the people you surround your marriage with will impact your marriage. In their case the impact is a positive one, lifelong friends AND marriages are in their circle…lucky.
BUT even more than the quality of the people around them, is the quality of their commitment to one another. I know I already oogled over how long they have been together but its worth mentioning how they have grown together. Laura has had an incredible basketball career and even been nominated for 2018 NCAA Women of the year award. Arvin speaks of Lauras accomplishments SO highly, and Laura quite literally blushes when she speaks about her Arvin. Yes, they have friends and family behind them, but these two are so truly in each others corner. Marriage is about outdoing one another in love, and Arvin and Laura do this in a way others should follow.
Laura and Arvin received the most spectacular weather and blue skies for their wedding day. Arvin and his closest friends got ready together with plenty of laughs to go around. Laura and her girls were BUZZING with excitement that their bestie was marrying her bestie, it was such a joy to be there the hours leading up to the wedding. Laura and her dad shared a very emotional first look before they took a ride in the Rolls Royce to the ceremony. Arvins eyes glistened as he saw his high school sweetheart walk down to him as his bride. He was beaming and it was contagious. After we plowed through family formals Laura and Arvin finally got a moment alone as we started bridal portraits. I couldnt put into words how happy they were, It was evident and luckily I have a camera so I dont have to use words.
At Seasons Catering in North Jersey their guests were welcomed with the most incredible cocktail hour I have ever seen. Once the parent dances were out of the way it was game on. Arvin and Laura had a PARTY to celebrate their marriage, It was so fun watching everyone get down. My dear Arvin and Laura, I am so grateful that I was asked to be a part of your wedding day. I mean it from the bottom of my heart, you two are inspiring. Congratulations!
I want to take a moment to shout out the incredible vendor team that worked on Laura and Arvins wedding day. Please take a moment to check out all of these vendors!
