Rachel & Brenden Kessler
“You make me happier than I ever thought I could be, and if you let me, I will spend the rest of my life trying to make you feel the same way.”
— Friends
Rachel and Brenden came to me through the Gram’ when they were planning out their wedding day at The Grandview in Poughkeepsie. On our first phone consult we laughed a lot as they told me their plans for a big ol’ throw down and I knew I wanted to be the one to capture their wedding day. Not only were Rachel and Brenden right up my alley but the Grandview in Poughkeepsie is one of my favorite wedding venues in the Hudson Valley. Thankfully they did choose me and now you get to partake in their stunning New York Wedding day.
Brenden and Rachels wedding day started out with threats of rain but thankfully that held off and the sun graced us with her presence all day. As brilliant as the sunshine was it could not outshine these two, head over heels is the term I would use. They planned and executed a huge wedding that went off without a hitch. The Grandview provided a backdrop of clear skies and breathtaking views and friends and family were just the cherry on top of a picturesque summer wedding.
Rachel and Brenden show such care and tenderness for each other. There were almost 200 people at their wedding and while they obviously enjoyed their guests, they only had eyes for each other. Because I am a Wedding Photographer I am constantly around people at their “peaks” in life, I mean the day you get married is pretty high up there. It never ceases to be an honor. I never tire of watching people, like Brenden and Rachel start a whole new life together. I know for a fact that in 20, 30, 40 even 50 years from now Rachel and Brenden are going to think back to that day at The Grandview when they vowed forever and smile because they meant it.
The Hudson Valley has some of the most breathtaking views in the state. The Grandview has a hidden gem location for first looks, and it is the most beautiful weeping willow on the walkway. The pro of doing your first look under this tree is the fact that it is a DREAMY light diffuser, it is the perfect tone for that “fine art” green tone, and it rounds out the many different location aesthetics at the Grandview in Poughkeepsie. The only Con is it is a walk, but I actually think this is a blessing in disguise. The bride and groom can use this walk as some precious alone time on their wedding day, so even that is a pro! Check out how beautiful Rachel and Brendens first look under this tree was!
There are two ceremony options at the Grandview in Poughkeepsie and they are both stellar. Rachel and Brenden got married on the patio overlooking the Hudson River, it was filled with heavenly light and even more love.
