“Would I rather be feared or loved? Easy. Both. I want people to be afraid of how much they love me.”

A Lake Minnewaska Adventure Engagement Session
Shelby and Nathan came to me on what feels like a cloud. We planned a Lake Minnewaska Engagement Session that included their sweet little Finley (the cutest puppy ever). Things don’t always go to plan (as if this season of life has not already proved that) but silver linings are real, and they are magnificent. You see, because of the virus Lake Minnewaska closes early at 7pm. I did not know that, so we were planning to meet up at 6:30pm (for that delicious golden hour light). After frantic phone calls and begging to park rangers we got to Lake Minnewaska just in time, we were even able to hit up a magic field I have been wanting to shoot in to catch a stellar sunset.
If this isnt a metaphor for life, I dont know what is. We plan for a perfect “thing” and inevitably our plans must change and adapt…sometimes faster than we would like. This virus has caused everyone to pull life in a little closer, hug your loves a little longer, and make sure that smiles end your day. Shelby and Nathan are perfect examples of complete joy. They happily leaped over rocks and onto waterfalls, they climbed out onto stony peaks overlooking windy lakes, and they clung to each other in an open field with sprinkles veiling a sunset with smiles all around. They already have the rhythm of marriage down. Next year they will tie the knot at the brand spankin new Barn at Villa Venezia. Their wedding I am sure will be full of more smiles than their engagement session, and me and my camera will be there to capture every.gorgeous.moment.
Can we all agree that every engagement session should end up in a field with a stellar sky? Lake Minnewaska as usual did not disappoint, and this beautiful couple could’nt disappoint.
