An Elegant Westchester Wedding

An Elegant Westchester Wedding

It was simply one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever had the honor of being a part of. Despite how cold it was Frank and Gina (and their whole bridal party) literally KILLED it! This wedding was dripping with elegance, the Westchester Country Clubs ballroom was nothing less than breathtaking. Frank and Gina truly stand out as a couple, as quiet as they both can be they are equally as sweet and deeply committed. I remember watching them dance their first dance and looking at all of their friends and family…there were huge smiles and happy tears and I could’nt express the joy these 2 bring more than that.

The details that went into this wedding were executed flawlessly, Gina truly had the wedding of most peoples dream (including mine) from her GORGEOUS lace dress with a bow in the back to the tall floral centerpieces…it was something that made everyone wide eyed. As the party got started and the band played on (and the sparks turned into full on fireworks) I could’nt help but think how happy I was that they chose me, little ol me to be present during their wedding day and that THAT was how I got to spend my last wedding of 2018. You two are another type of wonderful, I cannot wait to watch where life takes you!

A classy Winter Wedding in New Hyde Park, NY

A classy Winter Wedding in New Hyde Park, NY

Mikael & Hope

Hope & Mikael are two of the most genuine, sweet, lovely people I have ever met. When we first met Hope gushed over with wedding details describing to me her dream of the perfect classy and romantic wedding. Hope and Mikael are both Armenian and let’s just say that after their wedding I wanted to be Armenina too…no really I did! What an incredible experiance it was to be a part of their wedding day!

The morning of the wedding Mikael and his groomsmen were busy starting the party at his house, Hope and her girls were getting all dolled up in nervous anticipation and I was downing coffee like it was my job. At the Church Mikael’s mother sang “Ava Maria” as Hope strolled down the aisle, absolutely beaming towards her now Husband. The Inn at New Hyde Park was fully decorated for Christmas (and we took complete advantage of that) and the ballroom was everything candle-lit dreams are made of. Hope & Mikael danced the night away before we had to say our goodbyes (Im not gunna lie I shed a few tears). They are in for a long and simply wonderful marriage…congratulations you guys!

Megan & Jason

It was 5 years ago now that I was wheeled into Westchester medical center at 23 weeks pregnant with a baby who was trying to sneak out a tad early. The next 2 months (and 3 days) I sat in Westchester holding in my sweet little boy, enter in the sweetest of humans Megan. Nights were difficult because I was so far from home and Megan was my night nurse and we forged a quite real friendship…fast forward to a stunning October day and I got to watch this sweet lady become a Mrs.

Megan and Jason have already lived a lifetime of challenges, ups and downs and are finally “settling in” to married life. The type of bond that is forged when you have already “been through it all” is completely tangible, and it weaves itself into every aspect of the wedding day. Megan and I drove together to the ceremony with her mom and we chatted about how long they had been together, how God had been persistent in their hearts, and how quite frankly Megan did not think she would make it to the altar sometimes but here she was in her gown on her way. I look forward to watching their family and love grow, I look forward to visiting the farm that I am totally confident they will one day have, I cant wait to see the many blessings this marriage will bring and I am beyond honored to have been there. Congratulations love birds!

Katelyn & Jamie

⠀ They met in college, he played in a band and after at a party they chatted it up. Fast forward a few years and here we are on a cozy bright fall day in Catskill NY watching them say I do. Katelyn & Jamie planned their wedding day around wanting to have a good time, throughout our meetings they excitedly told me about their party animal guests (which was totally true by the by). When I meet with couples I listen closely to the parts of the wedding day that are repeatedly being brought up and with Katelyn and Jaime it became clear how much they valued their friends and their family and above all each other.

Jamie has the bluest eyes I have ever seen and when I look back through their wedding images my heart is warmed to see that his eyes simply LIT UP whenever he was looking at Katelyn. I can only imagine what it was like when they set eyes on each other that night while she watched him play, It was probably a lot like the way they looked at each other on their wedding day which was swoon worthy. These two partied away into the night laughing and dancing and I fully imagine thats what their marriage will be like! Katelyn and Jamie it really was an honor to be their on your wedding day, now you two go on and live a beautiful life together!

A fall engagement session on Lake Minnewaska

A fall engagement session on Lake Minnewaska

Isaac & Veronica

Place me like a seal over your heart, Like a seal over your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Lake Minnewaska was the PERFECT choice for Isaac & Veronicas fall engagement session, this setting brought out the best in both of them. Isaac is your classic outdoorsy guy who was clearly at home in these mountains, Veronica (who by the way was Isaacs first girlfriend I mean come on) clearly loves anywhere Isaac is. During this session we walked (a lot) and talked about how beautiful marriage is, what a blessing it is to have a lasting covenant that keeps through life mountains and valleys (see what I did there). These two will become one in January in what is sure to be a wonderful wedding that my heart cannot wait for~

A Summer wedding at Green Tree Country club // Hudson Valley NY

Rosa & Dan

Big. Beaming. Smiles. That is the first thing I noticed about Rosa and Dan when we met only a few months ago, they were laughing with each other as flung myself fresh out of city traffic to meet with them. Rosa and I gushed over the amazing details she had planned out for their summer wedding at The Green Tree Country Club in New Rochelle, it was absolutely a dream wedding.

Dream weddings are simply…well…dreamy but even more important than glittery details are the couples who plan them. It was a short journey with Rosa and Dan but one that was filled with rewarding moments and sweet stories of who these two are. Rosas bridesmaids kept telling me over and over again how she is the epitome of giving always going the extra mile and Dan actually stays after school to play catch with young kids who dont have dads to play with at home(yes wipe that tear from your eye). Together they are lovely, quiet, sweet, full of joy and now they are married! Warm sunshine wrapped the day up like a bow and as the reception got started the sunset on the river cast the perfect purple painted backdrop to usher in the party of a lifetime. Take a peak to the end of this blog and you will see the hands down coolest thing to ever have happen at a wedding reception…
